While in Bed
In the dark warmth of my bed
I sometimes feel my heart beating,
or I hear small, almost imperceptible  sounds.
Inevitably, when this happens,
I wonder
what else might I feel,
what else might I hear
if I were as still and quiet
at other times of day.
