Bird-Feeder Bandit
It was quite a surprise--
    working at the computer
        less than five feet from the bird-feeder,
just outside the window,
Jeanine heard a strange sound.
Looking to her left
    she saw a raccoon--black eyed bandit
had shimmied up the pole that held
the birdfeeder
and was raiding the "icebox."
A bit later, in an act of vengence,
Hallie was put outside
to use the facilities before bed,
and off she sprinted hot on the trail of
our bird-feeder bandit.
